Johnny received the George Milies award in 2007 for "Simply the Best" (for life). His bandmate and friend Bill "Beano" Hanti accepted the awards for Johnny and promised to give the awards to him at this year's Sheila Witkin Concert/Event. Georges Méliès is also connected to Johnny in the book that Johnny's optioned called The Invention of Hugo Cabret? Méliès is well revered as a film maker pioneer. His is the creator of the trip of the Moon film from 1902 and was a great influence on the silent film era which we know that Johnny is so fond of.
